Market Overview

The cryptocurrency market showed mixed trading on Tuesday, with Bitcoin and Ethereum both edging lower. According to TokenPost Market data, Bitcoin fell 0.71% over the past 24 hours to $63,712, while Ethereum slipped 0.22% to $1,794. The total crypto market capitalization stood at $2.1867 trillion, with 24-hour trading volume reaching $47.6 billion.

Altcoins and Dominance Shifts

Most major altcoins declined, with Solana dropping 2.17%, Dogecoin falling 1.98%, and XRP down 1.45%. BNB and TRON also posted losses of 0.74% and 0.06%, respectively. Hyperliquid was a notable exception, rising 0.91%. Bitcoin's market dominance edged down 0.06 percentage points to 58.43%, while Ethereum's share increased 0.04 points to 9.90%, suggesting some capital rotation within large-cap coins.

DeFi and Stablecoin Trends

The decentralized finance sector saw its total market cap fall to $67.09 billion, with 24-hour trading volume of $7.612 billion, down 6.86%. Stablecoin market conditions also weakened: total market cap was $282.418 billion, but trading volume plunged 20.58% to $49.007 billion. Derivatives trading volume dropped 20.68% to $411.049 billion, reflecting a broad decline in market activity.

Market Outlook

With spot, stablecoin, and derivatives volumes all contracting, short-term investor sentiment appears cautious. Analysts suggest that until volatility picks up, traders should monitor volume recovery and whether altcoin losses narrow, as these could signal a shift in momentum.
