Gate has officially launched trading of Korean stocks on its platform, allowing users to buy and sell shares listed on the Korea Exchange (KRX) using USDT without opening a traditional brokerage account or converting to Korean won. The service initially covers the top 1,000 KRX-listed stocks by market capitalization, including major names such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, NAVER, Hyundai Motor, and Celltrion. This move expands Gate's multi-asset offering, which already includes U.S. and Hong Kong stocks, into one of Asia's key capital markets.
Unified Account and Trading Infrastructure
With the addition of Korean stocks, Gate now provides a single platform where users can trade U.S., Hong Kong, and Korean equities alongside digital assets. The unified stock account system enables seamless management of holdings, profit and loss tracking, and transaction records across all three markets. During the initial phase, only continuous auction trading during regular market hours (09:00 to 15:20 KST) is supported. Stock prices and market cap are displayed in KRW, while fees and settlement are converted and settled in USDT based on real-time exchange rates, simplifying cross-border investing.
Expanding Global Equity Coverage
Gate currently supports over 10,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs across major exchanges like NYSE and Nasdaq, as well as more than 1,500 Hong Kong-listed securities. The addition of Korean stocks further strengthens its global market coverage, providing access to leading companies in technology, manufacturing, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence. The platform plans to expand its tradable Korean stock universe based on market cap, liquidity, and user demand.
Lowering Barriers to Cross-Border Investing
Gate's stock trading service leverages a unified account structure, enabling users to invest directly with USDT and access fractional share trading with a minimum of 0.01 shares. The service is integrated into Gate's VIP program, where users with holdings of just $2,000 can qualify for trading fees as low as 0.023% and dedicated account manager support. This launch marks another step in Gate's strategy to bridge traditional finance and digital assets, offering a one-stop global investment experience with lower barriers and greater efficiency.
