In 2014, XRP ranked eighth with a market cap of just $32 million, representing 0.3% of the top 10's combined value. By 2025, it had climbed to fourth place with a market cap of roughly $127.9 billion, a 4.3% share of the top-10 market. This marks a more than 4,000-fold increase in market value over 11 years.
XRP's longevity stands out against other early crypto leaders. Litecoin, once Bitcoin's closest rival, fell out of the top 10 after 2020. Former giants like Dash, NEM, and Ethereum Classic also lost their elite positions over time.
Surviving Adversity
XRP's journey has been far from smooth. It remained a top-10 asset throughout Ripple's high-profile legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a case that triggered exchange delistings, regulatory uncertainty, and intense industry scrutiny.
