- rohit dwivediMay 04, 2021 · 5 years agoCurrently, there are no specific laws or regulations in India that explicitly ban or restrict cryptocurrency trading. However, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had issued a circular in 2018 that prohibited banks from dealing with or providing services to individuals or businesses involved in cryptocurrencies. This circular was later overturned by the Supreme Court of India in 2020, lifting the ban on cryptocurrency trading. As of now, individuals and businesses are free to trade cryptocurrencies in India, but it is advisable to stay updated with any new regulations that may be introduced.
