It is specifically designed as an Ethereum wallet and provides a seamless integration with the Ethereum blockchain. However, there are some third-party extensions and plugins available that claim to enable Metamask to work with other cryptocurrencies. These extensions may allow you to add other blockchain networks and manage different types of altcoins within the Metamask interface. It's important to note that using such extensions may come with certain risks and limitations, so it's always recommended to do thorough research and exercise caution when dealing with cryptocurrencies other than Ethereum.

It offers a range of features and functionalities specifically tailored for Ethereum users, such as interacting with decentralized applications (dApps) and managing Ethereum-based tokens. While there might be some workarounds or third-party solutions claiming to extend Metamask's compatibility to other cryptocurrencies, it's important to understand that these are not officially supported by the Metamask team.
