By separating transaction signatures from the transaction data, SegWit increases the capacity of the blockchain and improves transaction speed. Litecoin's SegWit support also enables the Lightning Network, a layer-two scaling solution that further enhances transaction speed and reduces fees. Bitcoin, on the other hand, faced some resistance to its SegWit implementation, which delayed its activation. However, once activated, Bitcoin's SegWit implementation has proven to be effective in improving transaction efficiency and reducing fees.
