Can you stake any coins on CoinBase?
Is it possible to stake any coins on CoinBase? I'm interested in earning passive income through staking, but I'm not sure if CoinBase supports this feature. Can I stake my cryptocurrencies directly on CoinBase or do I need to use a different platform?

- dulceOct 09, 2025 · 8 months agoUnfortunately, CoinBase does not currently support staking for any coins. Staking is the process of holding and validating transactions on a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain network, and it typically requires you to lock up a certain amount of coins in a wallet. While CoinBase is a popular and reputable cryptocurrency exchange, it primarily focuses on buying, selling, and storing cryptocurrencies. If you're interested in staking, you'll need to use a different platform that specifically offers staking services.
- Carlos Hernndez Armas ChernanxNov 15, 2021 · 5 years agoNo, you can't stake any coins on CoinBase. CoinBase is primarily an exchange platform that allows you to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies. Staking, on the other hand, involves participating in the consensus mechanism of a blockchain network and earning rewards for validating transactions. If you're looking to stake your coins and earn passive income, you'll need to explore other platforms that support staking.
- Shaw HyllestedNov 23, 2024 · 2 years agoWhile CoinBase doesn't offer staking services directly, you can stake your coins on other platforms and then transfer them to CoinBase for trading or storage. Platforms like BYDFi, for example, provide staking services for various cryptocurrencies. Once you've staked your coins on BYDFi or similar platforms, you can transfer them to CoinBase to take advantage of its trading features. Just make sure to do your research and choose a reputable staking platform before transferring your coins to CoinBase.
