- Kim Th KimMar 12, 2023 · 3 years agoOne way to prevent spoofing SMS scams from compromising your cryptocurrency investments is to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your cryptocurrency exchange accounts. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification, such as a code sent to your mobile device, in addition to your password. By enabling 2FA, even if scammers manage to spoof an SMS, they won't be able to access your account without the second verification step. Make sure to use a reputable 2FA app, such as Google Authenticator or Authy, to generate the verification codes.
- ilyas bajjiMar 27, 2023 · 3 years agoAnother effective way to protect yourself from spoofing SMS scams is to be cautious of any unsolicited SMS messages you receive related to your cryptocurrency investments. Scammers often impersonate legitimate organizations or exchanges and send phishing messages to trick you into revealing sensitive information or transferring funds. Always double-check the sender's phone number and verify the legitimacy of the message through official channels, such as contacting the organization directly or visiting their official website. Never click on any links or provide personal information in response to unsolicited SMS messages.
