- Aliraza BasraApr 18, 2024 · 2 years agoWhen you 'long a call' in cryptocurrency trading, it means you are buying a call option with the expectation that the price of the underlying cryptocurrency will increase. This gives you the right, but not the obligation, to buy the cryptocurrency at a predetermined price (strike price) within a specific time period (expiration date). If the price of the cryptocurrency rises above the strike price before the expiration date, you can exercise the call option and profit from the price difference. Long calls can be used to speculate on the price increase of a cryptocurrency or to hedge against a short position.
- characterDec 14, 2023 · 2 years agoIn simple terms, 'long a call' means you are betting that the price of a cryptocurrency will go up. It's like buying a ticket that gives you the option to buy the cryptocurrency at a certain price in the future. If the price goes up, you can exercise the option and make a profit. If the price doesn't go up, you can let the option expire and only lose the premium you paid for it. Long calls can be a way to take advantage of potential price increases without having to buy the cryptocurrency outright.
- Funch NewtonOct 10, 2023 · 3 years agoWhen you 'long a call' in cryptocurrency trading, you are essentially taking a bullish position. It means you believe that the price of the cryptocurrency will rise in the future. By buying a call option, you have the right to purchase the cryptocurrency at a predetermined price, regardless of how high the price goes. This can be a profitable strategy if the price of the cryptocurrency increases significantly, as you can buy it at a lower price and sell it at a higher price. However, if the price doesn't rise above the strike price, the call option may expire worthless and you would lose the premium paid for the option.
