- Amelie KnapeJan 23, 2022 · 5 years agoWhen it comes to buying and selling Bitcoin on Robinhood, there are a few limitations to keep in mind. First, Robinhood only operates during regular trading hours, which means you can only trade Bitcoin on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. This means that you won't be able to buy or sell Bitcoin on weekends or outside of these hours. Additionally, Robinhood has a pattern day trading (PDT) rule that applies to all securities, including Bitcoin. According to this rule, if you make four or more day trades within a five-day period and your day trading activity represents more than 6% of your total trading activity, you'll be flagged as a pattern day trader. As a pattern day trader, you'll need to maintain a minimum account balance of $25,000. If your account balance drops below this threshold, you won't be able to day trade until you bring it back up. So, while you can buy and sell Bitcoin on Robinhood, it's important to be aware of these limitations and rules.
