  I had a similar issue before and what worked for me was clearing the cache and cookies in Chrome. Sometimes, accumulated cache and cookies can interfere with the functionality of popups. To clear the cache and cookies, go to Chrome settings, click on 'Privacy and security', select 'Clear browsing data', and then choose the time range and the types of data you want to clear. After clearing the cache and cookies, restart Chrome and see if the popups start working again.
