Is it possible to buy crypto using a card without going through KYC verification?

Manu SreevathsonJan 11, 2024 · 3 years ago3 answers

I'm wondering if it's possible to purchase cryptocurrencies using a debit or credit card without having to go through the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process. Is there any way to bypass the KYC requirements and still buy crypto with a card?

Unfortunately, most reputable cryptocurrency exchanges require users to complete the KYC verification process before allowing them to buy crypto with a card. This is done to comply with regulations and prevent illegal activities such as money laundering. However, there might be some peer-to-peer platforms or decentralized exchanges that don't have strict KYC requirements. Keep in mind that using such platforms may come with additional risks and lower liquidity compared to established exchanges.

Nope, you can't buy crypto with a card without going through KYC verification. It's a standard procedure implemented by most exchanges to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations. KYC helps prevent fraudulent activities and protects both the exchange and its users. So, if you want to buy crypto using a card, be prepared to go through the verification process.
