Is it possible to repurchase a covered call option on a virtual currency?
I'm wondering if it's feasible to buy back a covered call option on a virtual currency. Can I repurchase the call option that I previously sold? How does it work and what are the implications?

- Shivani ChalwadeJul 05, 2023 · 3 years agoYes, it is possible to repurchase a covered call option on a virtual currency. When you sell a covered call option, you receive a premium in exchange for the obligation to sell the underlying asset at a specified price (strike price) within a certain timeframe. If you decide to buy back the call option before it expires, you can do so by purchasing the same option contract in the market. This will effectively cancel your obligation to sell the virtual currency. However, keep in mind that the price of the call option may have changed since you sold it, so you may need to pay a different premium to repurchase it.
- infinityNov 10, 2023 · 3 years agoAbsolutely! You can repurchase a covered call option on a virtual currency. When you sell a covered call option, you are essentially betting that the price of the virtual currency will not exceed the strike price before the option expires. If the price remains below the strike price, you get to keep the premium you received when selling the option. However, if the price rises above the strike price, the option buyer may exercise the option and you will be obligated to sell the virtual currency at the strike price. To avoid this, you can repurchase the call option in the market, effectively closing your position and eliminating the obligation to sell.
