- Matheus LealDec 29, 2024 · a year agoYes, it is possible to short Bitcoin in Canada without using an ETF. One way to do this is by using a cryptocurrency exchange that offers margin trading. With margin trading, you can borrow funds to sell Bitcoin that you don't actually own, with the expectation that the price will decrease. If the price does decrease, you can buy back the Bitcoin at a lower price and return the borrowed funds, making a profit. However, it's important to note that margin trading carries significant risks and should only be done by experienced traders who understand the risks involved.
- Tanzeem RahatFeb 05, 2024 · 2 years agoAbsolutely! If you're looking to short Bitcoin in Canada without using an ETF, you can consider using futures contracts. Futures contracts allow you to speculate on the price of Bitcoin without actually owning the underlying asset. You can enter into a contract to sell Bitcoin at a predetermined price and time in the future. If the price of Bitcoin decreases, you can buy back the Bitcoin at a lower price and make a profit. However, it's important to note that futures trading can be complex and risky, so make sure you fully understand the mechanics and risks before getting involved.
