Can you please explain whether there is a maximum supply limit for Dogecoin? I'm curious to know if there will ever be a point where no more Dogecoins can be created.

- Bill LeeApr 26, 2022 · 4 years agoYes, there is a cap on the supply of Dogecoin. According to its protocol, the maximum supply limit is set at 10,000 coins per minute, which means that new Dogecoins are continuously being created. However, unlike Bitcoin, Dogecoin does not have a fixed total supply cap. Instead, it has an inflationary supply model, where the number of coins produced each year gradually decreases over time. This means that while there is no hard limit on the total supply, the rate of new coin creation will slow down over the years.
- 7okkaJul 14, 2024 · 2 years agoAbsolutely! Dogecoin does have a cap on its supply, but it's a bit different from other cryptocurrencies. While Bitcoin has a fixed supply of 21 million coins, Dogecoin has an unlimited supply. However, there is a cap on how many Dogecoins can be created per minute, which is set at 10,000. This means that new Dogecoins will continue to be minted, but at a decreasing rate over time. So, while there is no hard limit on the total supply, the rate of inflation will gradually decrease, making it a more sustainable and stable cryptocurrency.
- Rufina OkpeJan 28, 2025 · a year agoYes, there is a cap on the supply of Dogecoin. The protocol allows for the creation of new Dogecoins at a fixed rate of 10,000 coins per minute. This means that there will always be new Dogecoins entering circulation, but the rate of creation will gradually decrease over time. It's important to note that Dogecoin does not have a fixed total supply cap like Bitcoin. Instead, it follows an inflationary model, where the number of coins produced each year decreases. This ensures that there will never be a sudden shortage of Dogecoins, but also prevents the currency from experiencing hyperinflation.
