Can you provide some well-known instances where people predicted the death of bitcoin, but were proven wrong? How did these predictions turn out to be false?

- Edwards MacMillanApr 12, 2025 · a year agoWell, there have been quite a few instances where people declared the end of bitcoin, only to be proven wrong later. One notable example is the famous article published in 2010 by the New Liberty Standard, which predicted that bitcoin would never reach a value of $1. Fast forward to today, and we all know that bitcoin has not only surpassed $1, but has reached incredible heights. This prediction clearly didn't age well!

One of the most memorable ones was the statement made by the CEO of a major bank in 2013, who called bitcoin a 'fraud' and said it would 'eventually blow up'. Well, guess what? Bitcoin didn't blow up, it actually gained more popularity and acceptance. It's safe to say that this prediction didn't age well either!
