PoW, used by Bitcoin, requires miners to solve complex mathematical puzzles to validate transactions. It is secure but consumes a lot of energy. PoS, used by cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, selects validators based on the number of coins they hold. It is energy-efficient but can lead to centralization. DPoS, used by EOS, relies on a small number of trusted validators to validate transactions. It is fast but can be susceptible to collusion. PBFT, used by Hyperledger Fabric, requires a two-thirds majority of validators to agree on the order of transactions.
