It used the SHA-256 algorithm, which was the same as Bitcoin (BTC), but with a lower difficulty level. This made it more accessible for miners with less powerful hardware. Another coin that gained attention was Bytecoin (BCN). It used the CryptoNight algorithm, similar to Monero, which made it possible to mine with CPUs and GPUs. Lastly, let's not forget about Ripple (XRP). Although it cannot be mined in the traditional sense, it was relatively easy to acquire through other means, such as exchanges or participating in the Ripple network.
