The public key can be freely shared, while the private key must be kept secret. In terms of encryption and decryption processes, symmetric cryptography is generally faster than asymmetric cryptography. However, symmetric cryptography requires a secure channel for key exchange, as the same key is used for both encryption and decryption. Asymmetric cryptography, on the other hand, eliminates the need for a secure channel for key exchange, as the public key can be freely shared. When it comes to key management, symmetric cryptography requires the secure distribution of the secret key to all parties involved. This can be challenging in a decentralized cryptocurrency network.
