One challenge is the lack of interoperability between different blockchains, which can hinder the seamless transfer of assets and data across networks. This can limit the potential benefits of blockchain technology. Another challenge is the energy consumption of blockchain networks, especially those that rely on proof-of-work consensus mechanisms. The high energy consumption is not only environmentally unsustainable but also costly.
