What is the difference between a market order and a limit order on Kucoin?
Can you explain the difference between a market order and a limit order on Kucoin? I'm new to trading and I want to understand how these two types of orders work on the Kucoin exchange.

- AnkusNov 20, 2023 · 2 years agoA market order is an order to buy or sell a cryptocurrency at the best available price in the market. It is executed immediately and guarantees that the order will be filled, but the actual price at which the order is executed may differ from the expected price. On the other hand, a limit order is an order to buy or sell a cryptocurrency at a specific price or better. It allows traders to set the maximum price they are willing to pay for a buy order or the minimum price they are willing to accept for a sell order. Limit orders may not be executed immediately if the specified price is not reached in the market.
- opeyemiMay 12, 2021 · 5 years agoWhen you place a market order on Kucoin, you are essentially telling the exchange to buy or sell the specified cryptocurrency at the current market price. This means that the order will be executed immediately, but the actual price at which the order is filled may be slightly different from the current market price due to market fluctuations. On the other hand, a limit order allows you to set a specific price at which you want to buy or sell a cryptocurrency. The order will only be executed if the market price reaches your specified price.
- Gomez PlougOct 02, 2020 · 6 years agoMarket orders on Kucoin are great for traders who want to execute their orders quickly and are not concerned about the exact price at which the order is filled. However, if you want more control over the price at which you buy or sell a cryptocurrency, you can use limit orders. With limit orders, you can set the price at which you are willing to buy or sell, and the order will only be executed if the market reaches your specified price. This can be useful for traders who want to take advantage of specific price levels or want to avoid buying or selling at unfavorable prices.
