- Reece AlbrektsenJun 10, 2022 · 4 years agoIn ancient Mesopotamia, digital transactions were not possible as we know them today. However, the region played a significant role in the development of currency. Mesopotamians used various forms of currency, such as barley, silver, and gold, for trade and commerce. These physical currencies were exchanged through barter or as a medium of exchange. The concept of digital transactions did not exist during that time.
- LIONHEART DAVIDJul 20, 2025 · 10 months agoThe history of currency in Mesopotamia dates back to around 3000 BCE. The Mesopotamians used a system of weights and measures to facilitate trade and commerce. They used commodities such as barley, livestock, and precious metals as a form of currency. However, these transactions were not digital in nature. The concept of digital transactions emerged much later with the advent of modern technology.
