This decree classifies cryptocurrencies as digital assets and establishes a licensing regime for digital asset businesses, including cryptocurrency exchanges and digital token issuers. The decree also sets out requirements for anti-money laundering and know-your-customer procedures, as well as rules for custody of digital assets. It aims to provide a legal framework for the operation of cryptocurrency businesses in Thailand and to protect investors from fraud and other risks.
