  The total supply of uni token is 1 billion. It was initially distributed through an airdrop to users of the Uniswap decentralized exchange. Each user who had interacted with the platform before September 1, 2020, received 400 UNI tokens. The distribution was done to reward early adopters and encourage further usage of the platform. Since then, additional UNI tokens have been allocated for liquidity mining and governance participation.
