One of the most popular options was the Portuguese Escudo, which was the official currency of Portugal before the euro. Additionally, there were also digital currencies like the Portuguese Pataca and the Portuguese Real, which were used in specific regions of Portugal. These digital currencies were widely accepted and used for everyday transactions, both online and offline. However, with the adoption of the euro, these digital currencies were phased out and replaced by the euro as the official currency of Portugal.
