Just read a wild statement from Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong—he says AI is now generating 40% of their daily code. My first reaction? Pure panic. Seriously, are they insane? We're talking about the code that's supposed to be a fortress for billions in user assets, not some marketing fluff. Personally, I think this is a disaster waiting to happen. Trusting AI, which is notorious for glitches and  hallucinations,  with something this critical feels like prioritizing speed and profits over protecting people's money. It makes you wonder what other corners they're cutting. So, am I overreacting, or is this the biggest red flag we've seen in crypto security this year?

  • “AI writes the code but who guards the vault?”

  • Armstrong explicitly stated the AI-generated code "needs to be reviewed and understood" by human engineers.

  • You're not overreacting. Trusting AI with 40% of the code for a financial platform securing billions is a monumental risk. While AI can be a powerful tool for prototyping or boilerplate, its known flaws with logic and "hallucinations" make this a serious security red flag. It absolutely prioritizes speed over proven, rigorous security practices.

  • AI in exchange infrastructure sounds efficient but risky, good reminder to stay alert!

  • This isn't innovation, it's recklessness. Trusting AI with security-critical code is an unacceptable risk. When a 'hallucination' could lead to a nine-figure exploit, this move prioritizes cost-cutting over user protection.

  • AI speed, but trust matters.

  • It's a classic business move disguised as innovation🙄

  • People need to relax. 🤷‍♂️ AI is just a tool. Human engineers are still reviewing and testing everything.

  • Absolutely not. 40% is a massive attack surface for AI-specific vulnerabilities. All it takes is one sophisticated exploit in that AI-generated code and customer funds could vanish. This is a security nightmare.

  • This is how you stay ahead of the curve! 🚀 Faster development, quicker bug fixes, more features. This is incredibly bullish for Coinbase and the entire tech industry.
